Every service has an input language and an output language. The input costs nothing. Billing follows the output language being spoken, one language at a time.
A language you offer costs nothing until a listener requests it.
Now billing: Spanish (Spain)
Pick any input language and any output language. Input is free. Each output language you run is metered.
You speak these. Not billed.
Auto / Mixed (beta) follows a speaker who switches languages mid-sentence. It works for input only.
They hear or read these. Billed while running.
Names are shown in English with the native name in parentheses, as in the app's language pickers. Every input language can also be used as an output language.
Recognizing your speech in any supported input language adds nothing to the bill.
Every language being spoken to your listeners draws credits for as long as it is running.
English to Spanish, then Spanish to English mid-service, is one output language at any moment. You pay one rate.
Unlimited listeners, unlimited rooms. Only output languages count.
You decide which languages a room offers. A language on that list costs nothing until a listener asks for it, and it stops when they are gone.
You choose which languages a room offers. Listeners can pick any language on that list. A language that is not on it cannot be requested.
When someone picks a language and taps Listen, the room starts producing it within about 3 seconds. Billing begins with the first spoken output.
Each running language draws credits per minute at the rate for its voice type. Ten listeners on one language cost the same as one.
When the last listener of a language closes the page or stops listening, the room stops producing it. The meter counts a language until about 30 seconds after its last output, so the final sentence finishes and a quick reconnect starts nothing new. A phone that drops without saying goodbye is noticed after about a minute.
The room's main output language, and any language you pin as always on, run for the whole service. In a room with voice, listeners who only read captions do not start a billed language. In a text-only room, captions are the product and are billed at the text-only rate.
The meter records the seconds each language runs, day by day. Your Reports page shows what it recorded:
The hours in your report come from the same meter that draws your credits.
The service opens with the pastor speaking English and listeners hearing Spanish. At minute 45 a Spanish-speaking guest takes the pulpit, so the operator flips the direction. The bill is the total time an output language was running, not the number of different languages used.
One service, flipped at minute 45
The same 90 minutes, three output languages at once
Flipping is measured live. The meter counts a language while it is being served and looks back about 30 seconds, so the outgoing language can finish its last sentence as the new one starts. At Standard voice that overlap is worth at most 0.03 credits per flip.
Credits = minutes × output languages × the voice rate. Standard voice is 0.06 credits per language-minute.
English in, Spanish out, 90 minutes
90 min × 1 × 0.06
English in, Spanish out for 45 min, then Spanish in, English out for 45 min
(45 + 45) min × 1 × 0.06
English in, Spanish, Portuguese and French out, 90 minutes
90 min × 3 × 0.06
English in, Spanish out with captions only, 90 minutes
90 min × 1 × 0.045
Flip as often as you like. The total only changes when the number of output languages, the minutes or the voice change.
90 min × 1 × 0.06
Flip direction halfway through and this number stays put.
Credits come from a monthly plan or from one-time packs. New accounts start with 5 free credits that last 45 days.
| Output type | Credits per language-minute | Credits per language-hour | What listeners get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard voice | 0.06 | 3.60 | Spoken translation and live text |
| Premium voice | 0.14 | 8.40 | Studio-grade voices and live text |
| Text only | 0.045 | 2.70 | Live captions in their language |
Examples use the plan rates above. Pay-as-you-go credits without an active subscription draw 10% faster, so a monthly plan buys the same minutes for less. A silent stretch of more than about 30 seconds stops the meter until someone speaks again.
No. Billing follows the output language that is running at that moment. Flipping changes which language that is. It does not add a second one. A service that runs 45 minutes with Spanish out and 45 minutes with English out is billed as 90 minutes of a single output language.
No. Input recognition is included. Only the languages your listeners hear or read are metered.
Each output language running at the same time adds its own rate. English in with Spanish and French out is two output languages for as long as both run.
No. Listeners are free and unlimited, and rooms are free. Your bill is minutes multiplied by output languages.
The meter runs while an output language is being served. If nothing has been spoken for more than about 30 seconds, it stops until the next sentence.
A live service is not cut off the moment the balance reaches zero. You have a grace period of at least six hours, running to the end of the day, so the service can finish. Top up before the next one.
