Terms of Service

Last updated 24 September 2026

This English version is the authoritative text; translations are provided for convenience.

1. Acceptance & eligibility

By creating an account or using Jesus Speaks (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. The Service is made available only to Christian ministries and individuals who affirm our Statement of Faith. We approve accounts manually and may decline or revoke access at our discretion.

2. The service

Jesus Speaks provides real-time translation of spoken content into on-screen captions and synthesized speech. Translation and transcription are produced by automated systems and may contain errors; the Service is provided on an “as-is” basis and is not a substitute for a human interpreter where accuracy is critical.

3. Your account

Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. Billing and usage are managed at the organization level; the organization owner is responsible for their team’s use and for charges incurred by the organization.

4. Billing — plans, credits & language-hours

Usage is measured in language-hours (one hour of one language being listened to). You may subscribe to a monthly language-hour allowance, build a custom plan, or buy pay-as-you-go credits. Subscriptions are billed in advance (monthly or quarterly) through our payment processor, Stripe, in EUR. Unused subscription language-hours roll over on a rolling 6-month basis. New accounts begin with a free trial: we verify a payment card at signup but do not charge it during the trial. The trial credit is €5 and expires 45 days after signup; each customer or card is eligible for one free trial. At signup you may optionally choose to auto-continue: if you opt in, a monthly subscription at the amount you selected begins on your saved card once your trial credit is used up or the trial period ends, whichever happens first. We will email you in advance of that first charge, and you can cancel any time beforehand, or afterwards from the Billing page. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. By providing a payment method, you authorize us, via Stripe, to charge your saved card for purchases and renewals you have agreed to. This does not affect your statutory rights.

5. Grace, overrun & auto level-up

We will not cut off a live session mid-event for billing — if you run low during a service or conference, that session continues to its end. If you (the organization owner) enable “Allow overrun,” usage beyond your plan’s allowance continues and the additional language-hours are charged to your payment method on file at your plan’s per-language-hour rate. You agree that any such accrued overage charges are payable in full. If you enable “Auto level up,” you authorize us to move your subscription to the next tier (with prorated charges) when you reach your cap. These options are off by default and can be turned off at any time on the Billing page.

6. Cancellation & refunds

You can change or cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page or the Stripe customer portal; changes take effect at the end of the current period unless stated otherwise. Except where required by law, fees already paid and accrued usage charges are non-refundable.

7. Acceptable use

Use the Service only for lawful purposes consistent with its ministry intent. Do not resell or provide third parties direct access to the underlying translation, transcription, or speech APIs, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to produce unlawful, harmful, or deceptive content.

8. Listeners & privacy

Listeners join public room links without an account. An organization may optionally require listeners to enter a name before viewing; where enabled, that name is shown a notice that it is recorded and is visible only to that organization and to platform administrators. We process personal data to operate the Service; handle captured names responsibly and in line with applicable law.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, and brand are ours or our licensors’. Spoken content you bring remains yours; you grant us the limited rights needed to transcribe, translate, and deliver it to your listeners in real time.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date, and continued use means acceptance.

12. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operating ministry (to be specified). Questions? Email [email protected].
